Production Apprenticeship

During an exciting 12 month training programme you will develop the practical skills and theory to become a member of our fantastic production team working on our fast paced Corolla line. Being taught in our onsite Manufacturing Skills Development Centre, you will learn how to carry out production processes safely, efficiently and to outstanding quality. You will take ownership of a variety of manufacturing activities throughout your time here.

You will work towards an industry recognised Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative (LMO) Diploma. Upon successful completion of the programme, you are guaranteed a permanent position at Toyota as a production team member and will be placed into one of our 6 production areas (press, weld, paint, plastics, assembly, and quality assurance).

About the programme

You will undertake both classroom and off the job hand skills training, carrying out 3 different placements in various production areas. You will spend 4 days a week undertaking practical training on the production line and 1 day based in the classroom learning production theory in our onsite Manufacturing Skills Development Centre.

To develop your teamwork, communication and leadership skills, you will also spend time away from site on an outward bound residential. You will be taught about the Toyota Production System and our core philosophies of Continuous Improvement and Respect for People.

We look for people with a drive and passion to make a difference, within the workplace as well as for their self-development and progression. Share the value that there is always a better way – continually improving is the key!

There are no qualification or grade requirements to be eligible to apply to our production apprenticeship. Apprentices without a Grade 4 or above in Maths and English GCSE will be required to attempt a Level 2 functional skills in Maths and English alongside the LMO qualification.
