Your Development at Toyota Manufacturing UK
We place a great deal of emphasis on learning through on the job training (OJT), but we also provide a clear structured programme of off the job development.
Your section manager will support your development at the company however, your integration into the business will be further aided by a 'buddy' or mentor who will be nominated to support and guide you during those early, important months at Toyota Manufacturing UK.
At Toyota Manufacturing UK we have a dedicated training centre where the learning & development team deliver a wide variety of training courses.
Your development will be split into personal skills, Toyota specific skills and technical skills development required to successfully perform your job.
Your continuing development will be assessed as part of the Toyota appraisal process. Your supervisor will assess you on clearly defined Toyota Way competencies.
Promotion Opportunities
As your skills, knowledge and experience grow, you could be recognised within your occupational class for rank promotion opportunities. If you are promoted, then naturally a higher level of contribution is expected with each promotion.
At Toyota Manufacturing UK we have a flat organisation structure. Promotion is based on the availablitity of a suitable vacancy. Candidates must display consistently high performance over a number of years. Members who are considered suitable to promote to a section manager position will need to complete an evaluation centre where they will be required to demonstrate their suitability for the position.
