Salary and Benefits

The basic salary for Production team members is £18,602.
A shift premium of 17.5 % is payable based on a 2 shift pattern which equates to a total salary of approximately £21,800.

Generous shift allowance

Our Production Team Members work a two-shift pattern as follows:

At Deeside the same shift pattern is followed with the exception of Friday night shift which starts at 18.00hrs and finishes at 02:18hrs.

There are a small number of areas in the Plant which operate a 3 shift system. We will confirm to you at the time of offer which shift pattern you will follow.


Pension

You are eligible to join the pension scheme once you have successfully completed your three month probationary period. Toyota Manufacturing UK offer a Defined Contribution Scheme to members.

Both the member and Toyota Manufacturing UK contribute to the Pension plan benefits. The member contributes 2% of their pensionable salary and Toyota Manufacturing UK contributes 4% of your pensionable salary plus the administration charges and the cost of any insured benefits.

After 5 years, membership of the Defined Contribution Scheme, there is the option to transfer to a Final Salary Scheme or an enhanced Defined Contributions Scheme.


Life assurance

If you are a member of the pension scheme, you will also benefit from life assurance, should you die whilst in the employment of Toyota Manufacturing UK.


Private healthcare

You will become eligible to join the private healthcare plan once you have successfully completed your probationary period.
Private healthcare is available through BUPA within a number of different options including single, married, family and single parent. Children are covered until the age of 21 provided they are still in full-time education.
Additionally, corporate membership of Denplan is also available.


Attractive car schemes

Toyota members have a number of options to purchase vehicles. The car privilege scheme, where a selection of Buranston built vehicles may be obtained over a 12 or 24 month period. This plan also includes RAC Membership, road tax and servicing. A new vehicle can be purchased with attractive discounts or ex-management vehicles are offered to members at discounted rates.


Paid overtime

Where overtime is worked, this will attract a payment as follows:

Mon-Fri - Time and one third for first 2 hours, time and one half thereafter
Saturday - Time and one half
Sunday - Double time


25 days paid annual holiday (+ bank holidays)

There will be two plant shutdowns each year (a fortnight in August and a week at Christmas) and you will be required to take holiday at these times.

The remainder of your holiday entitlement should be pre-agreed with your line supervisor. This will take into account requests made by other members in the work group.


Company sickness benefit

The entitlement will be based upon length of service as follows:
Service Entitlement
Less than 3 months service - No payment
From 3 to 6 months service - 6 months salary
From 6 to 12 months service - 9 months salary
12 months service or more - 12 months salary


Free workwear

A free workwear allowance is provided to all new members. Options are also available to purchase additional items at a discounted rate should this be required.


Subsidised restaurants

We have three subsidised restaurants on-site serving a wide range of foods.


Workplace nursery

Toyota Manufacturing UK offer an on-site nursery for children from the age of 3 months to pre-school at Burnaston.

The nursery is open from 06.45hrs to 17.30hrs. Prior arrangements can be made to extend this to 18.30hrs. However, the nursery does not operate across the nightshift.

For Deeside, a subsidised arrangement is in place with a local nursery.

Both the 100 % salary sacrifice scheme and the Government set childcare vouchers salary sacrifice scheme are available. These schemes allow the member to benefit from reduced national insurance and tax contributions whilst paying for their childcare.
